The Kakamega Global Star Academy: From Kakamega to the World

We are excited to officially share the name of the school being established in Kakamega, Kenya:

The Kakamega Global Star Academy

From Geoffrey, the founder:

“I chose ‘global’ because people around the globe are joining hands to support the project. I also believe some of our learners will travel globally.”

This name reflects both the local roots of the school and the worldwide support that has made this project possible. It also speaks to the future, a future where children begin their learning journey in Kakamega and grow into confident individuals with local or global opportunities navigating their lives with the metaphor of the stars in the sky to guide.

Ready to Welcome Learners in February

Kakamega Global Star Academy is being developed as an early childhood learning environment that recognises and supports neurodivergent learners from the very beginning. Early support has the power to change life trajectories, not just for individual children, but for families and future generations.

Parents are ready to enrol their children, with the school preparing to open in February.

Geoffrey is currently hiring qualified and registered early childhood teachers to ensure children receive the best possible start in their learning journey.

There is urgency now to complete the final steps needed so children can safely and comfortably begin learning.

What Is Needed Right Now

The classrooms have been painted outside, and now the inside is the next priority. However, one essential element must be completed before children can start:

Classroom floor tiling

At present, the classrooms have concrete floors. For young children, tiled floors are essential for safety, hygiene, and comfort in an early childhood setting.

We are calling for donations to raise 60,000 Kenyan Shillings, which will fund the tiling of the floors in two classrooms.

Donation target

  • 60,000 KES

  • 787.42 NZD

  • 641.31 CAD

How Your Donation Will Help

Funds raised will directly support the learning environment for the children, including:

  • Classroom floor tiling (primary and urgent need)

  • 🖍 Blackboard paint

  • Sports equipment

  • 📚 Stationery

  • 🧸 Early childhood classroom setup

Any surplus donations will be used to further equip the classrooms and support the children’s learning experience.
